Marble Stone Care Guide
Preserving Natural Elegance
Marble and natural stone are admired for their distinctive beauty and timeless appeal. Each piece showcases unique veining, mineral formations, and natural patterns, ensuring that no two slabs are ever identical. These natural variations, along with carefully applied fillers used to enhance the surface finish, are part of the authentic character and craftsmanship of genuine stone. While our artisans carefully select and finish every piece, subtle differences in colour, texture, and pattern should be expected and celebrated as part of its natural beauty.
Note: Travertine is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. Coloured marble, however, is recommended for indoor use only, as prolonged exposure to outdoor elements may gradually cause its colour to fade.
Protecting Your Marble & Stone
Although polished marble and stone offer a level of resistance to moisture and staining, regular care is essential to preserve their appearance. We recommend using a high-quality cleaner and sealer specifically designed for natural stone to help protect the surface from everyday spills, stains, and general wear.
Prevention Tips
- Use coasters under drinks to prevent water rings and accidental spills.
- Avoid placing acidic substances such as citrus, vinegar, wine, or alcohol directly on the surface, as they can cause etching.
- Keep highly pigmented materials away from the stone to minimise the risk of staining.
- Wipe up spills immediately to help maintain the finish and natural appearance.
- Never place hot cookware directly on marble or stone surfaces. Always use a heat-resistant trivet or coaster to prevent heat marks.
Moving & Handling Marble Safely
Handling Guidelines
- Always lift marble and stone pieces instead of dragging them to avoid chips or cracks.
- Disassemble large furniture pieces before moving them and reassemble them once in their final position.
- Carry marble or stone tops upright on their edge with the assistance of two people to reduce the risk of breakage.
Transportation
During transport, secure each piece in an upright position on its longest edge and use adequate cushioning to prevent movement and potential damage.
Cleaning & Maintenance
For routine cleaning, wipe smooth surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Textured finishes can be cleaned using a soft-bristled brush with warm water and a mild soap solution. Avoid abrasive pads, harsh chemicals, or cleaning products that are not specifically formulated for natural stone, as these may damage the surface over time.
With proper care and maintenance, your marble and stone pieces will retain their natural beauty for years to come, adding lasting elegance to your home. If you have any questions about caring for your product, please contact our customer support team.
